While downtown to watch the Christmas Santa Clause Parade, we stopped inside Nordstrom’s and went for lunch in their bistro on the top floor.
It’s modern space, bright and airy, with floor to ceiling windows.
Theirs is a casual upscale menu and vibe, somewhere in between an Earl’s or Cactus Club restaurant.
We decided to split out meals, staring with Short rib and Grilled Cheese sandwich
This is a crusty rustic bread, seared in a panini press, and filled with shredded short rib, blackberry jam, and white cheddar cheese. It’s served with french fried potatoes and garlic aioli. This is pretty good sandwich. The short rib is warm tender and rich. The blackberry jam is slightly sweet and tart, and the cheese is gooey and rich. The fried potatoes and light and crispy and lightly salted.
This is the Fig & Berry Salad with chicken
This is a fresh torn mixed green salad dressed with a light balsamic vinaigrette, topped with crisp breaded chicken, dried mission figs, and blue cheese. This is a good salad. The greens were crisp and fresh. The berries were tart and slightly sweet, and the dressing was tart and refreshing. The blue cheese provided some creamy richness. The chicken was moist and lightly crunchy.
Our server was cheerful and friendly, and her services prompt and discrete.
