Street Food review: Fat Duck Mobile Eatery

The area where I’m currently working gets the occasional food truck.

On this occasion, the Fat Duck Mobile Eatery came by.

I ordered the “Philly” Style sandwich.

This is a split toasted crusty roll, filled with shredded confit duck and shredded chicken, with marinated mushroom slices, swiss cheese, pickled onions and threaded scallions.  It’s served with crunchy potato chips and a chili mayo.

This is a good sandwich.  The config duck and chicken taste great, they’re moist and tender (also too moist, it’s a messy sandwich to each).  The bun is nicely toasted on the outside and has some good chewy tender crumb on the inside.  The pickled onions add some nice sharpness and contrast to the fattiness of the duck and the chips.

The chips are crunchy, but in need of some seasoning.  The spicy mayo is pretty mild.
